A[nother] Project — Bike Rack!

Today I got home and inadvertently created another project for myself.

You see, I was looking for my guitar amp which was buried in bottom of the closet in the "junk" room. You know, the room that collects stuff not used on a daily basis (I know you have one too!). After throwing away about a 10 pounds of cardboard from all the computer components I bought earlier this year, I had to move my wife's bike out of the way. Man, that thing always gets in the way—

Aha! I need a freestanding bike rack, don't I? Indeed, I do. Google quickly appeased my curiosity by showing both manufactured and DIY examples. I had best go draw up some plans while I'm still motivated!

This is what I know:

• I have two (2) bikes
• Length: between 5ft and 6ft
• Height: between 42" and 48"
• Weight: between 15lb and 20lb each?
• I have limited space, so the smaller the better
• I should be able to take it apart (and put it back together)
• I like metal

I have posted this on the forums, hoping to get some discussion. Chime in. Well, that's what I have for now. Time to draw up some plans!
