The Forgotten Rice Rant

The following came a list of things that really irritated me. It was on a page from the old, old, old Randomland. Fortunately, I don't think those pages ever went online. But today, as a fond reminder of Rice-Bashing days past, here is a 4 or 5 year old gripe out import vehicles and their bad drivers.

Please ignore typos and nonsense automotive terms, this was taken verbatim from an old, old webpage. Uh, it makes it more authentic that way, right?

Global-Warming-Up To...

Now, for some reason, all the crap-talk about global warming has taken a back burner these past few months. My guess is because people in this country became livid over the idea of legalizing tens of thousands of people who sneaked into this country and have little regard for it, other than its self-seeking "opportunities."

Age-ist, Color-ist, and Height-ist

What is the deal with all the laws about being something-IST? Racist, sexist, blah, blah, blah! What if I'm annoyed when someone discriminates by age? No one listens!

Oh sure, don't drink before some magical age (21). Don't smoke before some other magical age (18). Despite the fact that I've never smoked and barely drink (and am well over the legal age for both), it's annoying that you can get in trouble for saying, "He's black," but someone's age...wooaaaah there!

NBC Hates MySpace

in

Well, it's official - NBC News hates MySpace. They also hate Xanga and Facebook, but they really hate MySpace.

Apparently the internet is a dangerous place. NBC says it is. "Internet predators," ooohhh. Buzzword for sure. Here's one story which reports on it.

Oregon Car Prices

Nick and I have noticed a disturbing trend when it comes to the pricing of vehicles here in Oregon -- they're too high! For some reason, be it the will of the cosmos or just seller stubbornness, most cars are going for 15-20% more than other places. Take a gander north to Washington state -- knock a grand off any decent vehicle. I mean, it's not like we have a reputation of having good cars (ie, 'it's a California car' seems a nice catch phrase when buying classic cars). So what's the deal?
